The mural visually communicates the impactful message from Loren Long’s children’s book The Yellow Bus. Long wrote and illustrated the book, and the mural reflects The Yellow Bus‘s celebration of the joy that awaits at every turn of life’s winding road, borrowing inspiration from Long’s life experience and incredible imagination. Within the mural, viewers absorb the bus’s infectious cheer, ultimately encouraging and reminding our community about the promise of life’s many new beginnings and the power that comes from selfless acts of service.

The mural was completed by Lead Teaching Artist Paul Loehle, Teaching Artist Brooke Owens, and a team of 10 youth apprentices.
